STAGES OF THE TRAINING:

1. Online training – High-Altitude First Aid: Participants receive 3 months access to a 3-hour webinar focused on high-altitude first aid. After completing the webinar, there is a 1-hour online meeting during which the instructor explains key issues and answers participants’ questions.

2. Practical home assignments: Before the field training day, participants receive practical tasks to complete at home. These tasks are then reviewed online by the instructor, helping to reinforce knowledge and prepare participants for field activities.

3. Practical field training (approximately 7-9 hours): After completing the preparatory stages, participants take part in a full day of intensive field training, where all topics are practiced hands-on in real terrain. The training is conducted in groups of no more than 3 participants.

RESCUE AND SURVIVAL IN HIGH MOUNTAINS

WHO IS THIS TRAINING FOR?

This training is designed for high-altitude trekkers, mountaineers, Himalayan climbers, mountain runners, trekking and expedition leaders, high-mountain guides, and all people who actively spend time in remote high-altitude environments far from civilization and want to gain practical rescue skills in real outdoor conditions, not in a classroom. The training is conducted in small groups, allowing for intensive hands-on practice and an individual approach. The training is fully practical and focuses on actions that can realistically save health and life in the mountains.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN DURING THE TRAINING?

➤ how to practically use medical equipment and medications included in a personal emergency kit

➤ how to assess an injured or ill person

➤ how to provide first aid for altitude-related illnesses and traumatic injuries

➤ how to improvise rescue equipment using available resources

To make the best use of time spent in the field, the training has been designed as a three-stage process. These stages complement each other and provide solid preparation for practical field work.
